DRYDEN — Dryden registered a 54-31 triumph against visiting Mayville in a North Central Thumb League varsity boys’ basketball contest last Friday night.

With the decision, Dryden moves to 12-5 and 6-3.

In Friday’s contest, Dryden jumped out to a 14-2 advantage after one quarter had ended and made it 30-8 at the half.

When the action resumed, Dryden continued to pull away. Thanks to a 13-11 third quarter edge, the Cardinals forged a 43-19 lead with 24 minutes gone.

Dryden then withstood a 12-11 fourth quarter rally, finishing with a 54-31 win.

Jack Kaplan (21 points, including four trifectas) led Dryden. Coulter Waite (10 points) hit for double figures as well. The Cardinals also received points courtesy of Nate Schenkel (eight), Brady Czape (five, featuring a trey), Ronny Hudson (five), Rylan Rudd and Mitchell Gill (two apiece) along with Kody Livingston (one).
