IMLAY CITY — Imlay City dropped a 49-38 verdict to visiting Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball battle last Friday night.

With the result, Imlay City now stands at 10-5 overall and 7-2 when they go up against BWAC foes.

In Friday’s confrontation, Cros-Lex grabbed a 13-10 edge after one quarter was over with.

They then followed it up with a 29-21 advantage over the next two quarters, pushing their cushion to 42-31.

Both sides then hit for seven points apiece during quarter number four, allowing Cros-Lex to post a 49-38 victory.

Mary Lengemann paced Imlay City with a 14-point effort. She was given assistance in the scoring department by Kendall Sommer (six points, including a trifecta), Kayla Rossen (six), Ana Lengemann (five, featuring a trey), Abigail Thibodeau (a triple) plus Kayla Louwsma and Izzy Aune (two each).
