IMLAY CITY — Imlay City posted a 40-35 victory over visiting Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball contest last Friday night.
With the decision, Imlay City improves to 7-4 overall and 5-1 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned.
In Friday’s contest, Imlay City spotted Armada 10-8 edge after one quarter was done.

Quarter two saw Armada net seven points and Imlay City generate five, leaving them with a 17-13 halftime lead to protect.
The next eight-minute stretch saw Armada hit for 10 points as did Imlay City. That made it 27-23, Armada with 24 minutes elapsed.
Imlay City then put together a 17-8 fourth quarter rally, pulling out a 40-35 win.
Mary Lengemann (18 points, featuring a trey) paced Imlay City’s scoring attack. The Spartans also received points courtesy of Kayla Louwsma (eight), Emma Waatti (six, with a pair of triples), Ana Lengemann (a trifecta), Kayla Rossen (three) and Kendall Sommer (two).
