William (Bill) James Walker, 82, of Almont, MI passed away on January 16, 2019 at the Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township from respiratory and intestinal complications.
Bill was born March 9, 1936 near Flushing, MI to parents Chauncey Clifford Walker and Alice Lucille (Layman) Walker. Married to Phyllis (Thompson) Walker on September 30, 1984.
He had many interests, such as working with and repairing motor vehicle engines, riding his Harley, traveling and camping, playing his guitar and banjo. Bill drove truck most of his life, retiring from MST steel, in Warren, MI. He took immense pride in achieving a safety award for driving over 1 million miles without having any accidents.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Thompson) Walker; son, Jim (Julia) Walker; daughter, Lillian (Tim) Preece; stepchildren, Kathy (Joe) LeBlanc, Jerome Walker, Larry Isbel, Donita Anglin and Chris (Sharon) McCoy; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Robert Daniel Walker of North Branch, MI and David (Paula) Walker of Temecula, CA; sister, Peggy (Lynn) Koltvedt of St. Charles, MI; and 25 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chauncey Clifford Walker and mother, Alice Lucille Walker both of North Branch, MI; sisters, Lucille Caudill of Kalispell, MT, Karen Ferrett of Saginaw, MI and Patricia Ouimette of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; and brother, Paul Walker of Saginaw, MI.
The funeral service took place Tuesday, January 22 at Christian Memorial-West in Rochester Hills, MI. Rev. Clinton Walker officiated.
Arrangement were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont, MI.
