Chiefs move to 2-2 in GTC conference battle at home
CAPAC — The Capac varsity girls’ basketball team escaped with a 44-42 win against visiting Ubly in a Greater Thumb Conference East contest last Thursday night.
With the decision, Capac improves to 2-6 and 2-2.

Quarter two saw Capac net 10 points and Ubly manage six, good for a 27-14 cushion at halftime.
When play resumed, Ubly fought back with a 14-8 third quarter edge. That trimmed their deficit to 35-28 with 24 minutes gone.
Capac then withstood a 14-9 fourth quarter rally, leaving with a 44-42 win to their credit.
Jona Mullin paced Capac with 18 points. The Chiefs also had Natalie Maday (nine points), McKennah Hopkins (six, including a pair of trifectas), Aubree Smith (five, featuring a trey), Meriah Mason (four) and Shelby Husovsky (two) reach the scoring column.
