TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont and Capac wrestling teams placed first and third, respectively, last Saturday at the Redskin Invitational in Sandusky.

Almont’s winning total that day was 160 points. Sandusky pulled up second, amassing 110.5 points, and Capac tallied 106.5 for third. Bad Axe (101 points), Port Huron High (97.5), Mio (87), Ubly (79), Marlette (69.5), Brown City (49) and St. Charles (44) rounded out the top-ten teams on hand.

Mathew Dwyer (135) headlined for Almont that day. He put together a 4-0 mark, earning MVP accolades for weight classes 103-140.

Dallas Stanton (103), Gavin Dempz (119) and Lane Jackson (145) gave Almont firsts as well.

Landon Kruse (140) provided Almont with a second.

Aiden Finn (119) and Hector Contreras (285) supplied Almont’s thirds.

Almont also received a fourth courtesy of Robbie Battani (189).

Shane Hoffman (112) and Hunter Thorner (140) paced Capac with firsts.

Max Frangedakis (103) and Nathan Schocke (112) supplied Capac’s seconds.

Arturo Rosales (160) and Bryce Tank (215) contributed thirds for Capac that day.

Hunter Tyson rounded out the list of Capac placewinners. Tyson took fourth at 125 pounds.
