Mardy Rothwell, age 68, of Imlay City, MI died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Mardon Marvin Rothwell was born January 4, 1951 in Highland Park, MI. He was the son of the late Martin Kendall and the late Erma Violet (Riley) Rothwell. Mardy grew up in the Brightmoor/Redford area west of Detroit. He married Deborah Lynn Truax on August 28, 1971 in Brightmoor, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah, on April 11, 2009.
He was employed by Ford Motor Tractor Plant, and later when it became the Ford Engine Plant, in Romeo as a Hi-Lo driver and general laborer. Mardy retired from Ford after 38 years.
He was a long time member of the Imlay City Eagles Club. Mardy was an avid bowler and pool player. He has won many bowling and pool trophies.
Mardy is survived by two daughters, Crissy (Jeffrey) Biauce of Metamora, MI and Kimberly (Jamie) Schultz of Oakland, MI; and one son, Shane (Shimeka) Rothwell of Louisville, KY; also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Mae Bowers of California and Jean Marie Cybula of Prescott, AZ; and four grandchildren, Derek Tasker, Alexander Biauce, Neriah Rothwell, and Aleah Rothwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Lynn Rothwell; a brother, Kevin Rothwell; and brothers-in-law, Judd Bowers and John Cybula.
The memorial service was held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
