Chiefs drop a 50-36 game to Cros-Lex at Holiday Showcase
CAPAC — Capac dropped a 50-36 outcome to Cros-Lex’s varsity basketball team at the SC4 Holiday Basketball Showcase last Friday night.
With the outcome, Capac slips to 3-5 this season.
In Friday’s encounter, Cros-Lex took an 11-9 edge after one quarter was over with.
Cros-Lex then followed it up with an 11-7 second quarter advantage, pushing their lead to 22-16 at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Cros-Lex widened the gap some. Bolstered by a 17-12 third quarter edge, the Pioneers forged a 39-28 cushion with 24 minutes gone.
Cros-Lex then outscored Capac 11-8 the rest of the way, pulling out a 50-36 victory.
For Capac, Trevor Boers led the way with 20 points. Jakob Sawyers (six points), Jordan Hellmuth (four) plus Brad Schaefer, Hank Barker and Joey Montney (two apiece) supported his performance.
Capac also received 11 rebounds and four blocked shots from Boers.
